Wool Button Ornaments!!

Cute and simple!!

Foam Balls
Hot Glue Gun

Step 1:
Cut a piece of ribbon (this is the piece that will hang your ornament on the tree), fold it in half and use your hot glue gun to put a dot of glue about 1/2'' from the bottom.

Step 2:
Use hot glue to glue the ribbon unto the foam ball.

Step 3:
Put a dot of glue on the foam ball and glue a piece of wool.

Start wrapping the wool around the ball.
Don't forget.. you can use glue at any time to make sure the wool stays tight on the ball.

Step 4:
Glue buttons onto your ball.
You can use the buttons to cover where you might see glue dots.

VoilĂ !

P.S. I'll be linking to these Parties.

Wooden Noel!!

I made this wooden Noel centrepiece last year.

Unfortunately, I do not have pictures of each step.

Wooden letters (I bought mine at Walmart)
Scrapbook paper
Wooden base (optional)
Mod Podge
Gold Paint
Glue gun

Step 1:
Trace your letters on scrapbook paper and cut them out.  (To trace my letters, I photocopied each letter with a photocopier and cut out the shapes and then I placed them on the scrapbook paper I had and cut them out.)

Step 2:
Paint your letters. (You can also put a little bit a paint on the edges of your cutouts.. it will give a nice distressed look to your letters)

Step 3:
Apply Mod Podge to the front of your cutouts.

Step 4:
Apply Mod Podge to the back of your cutouts and place them onto your letters.

Step 5:
Apply a sealer to your letters. (I used a spray sealer.)

Step 6:
Add embellishments to your letter with the help of your glue gun.

Step 7:  (optional)
Nail and glue your letters onto a wooden base.

**You can also keep your letters as is and hang them on the wall.. or even place them standing up on a mantle.

Let me know if you try this project. :)

Felt Christmas Ornaments!!!

My very first felt creations:

I made the green one last week.. a test run to see if I could actually make something with felt. I think it turned out quite well if I can say so myself. :)

They are quite simple to make.. no special skills required. :)

Embroidery Thread
Glue Gun

Step 1:
Fold your felt in half and cut out the desired shape.  (You can draw the shape unto the felt, however I just winged it).

Step 2:You have two options here.  You can immediately sew on a little circle/square onto one of your circles or wait until later on.  Honestly, I think it's easier to sew it on right away (I tried both ways).

Place your circles one on top of the other and starting sewing them using the embroidery thread.

DON'T SEW IT COMPLETELY... you need to leave enough room to be able to stuff the inside.

Step 3:
Insert your stuffing.

Step 4:
Continue sewing the circles together... but leave room to insert your ribbon.

Step 5:
Once you have inserted the ribbon and sewn your circles completely... it's time to decorate!
You can use your hot glue gun or thread to decorate with felt and/or buttons.

I found that adding a bow made the ornament look every prettier.

What do you think?
